COMPANY HISTORY

Barclays Group International, Inc. was established in Florida in 1989 by Robert Wyner, Chairman of the Board (Biography). In 1990 the office building at 249 Peruvian Avenue was purchased and renamed The Barclays Building. Since 1981 with investment partners Vice Chairman, Iraj Amir Motazedi (Biography) and President, Wayne Gerl (Biography) Mr. Wyner and partners invested and constructed commercial properties nationally and internationally. Barclays Group International was Incorporated in 1993 in Tunis, Tunisia. Mr. Gerl has over 60 years of infrastructure and construction experience in 8 States in the USA by Gerl Construction. Mr. Motazedi has over 75 years of history in cement plants, power plants and housing industry in The Middle East by Mohamadieh Industrial Company founded in 1954, Elahieh Residential Companies founded in 1974, Bamsaz Construction Company founded in 1973 and Komeh Residential Company founded in 1990. Mr. Motazedi and Mr. Gerl merged their firms, Gedi Construction and Gerl Construction into Barclays Group International In 2005. David Pinto (Biography) was named Executive Vice President and Partner. Kamal Ahmad (Biography) as Sr. Vice President of Barclays Group Arabia brings to our Group a strong background in Corporate Management. Chedli Amous (Biography) Tunisia, is the Tunisian partner.
In 2007 a partnership was established between Experience Plus of Dubai UAE, with Barclays Gedi Group Inc. of Palm Beach, Florida USA. The new entity, Experience Plus-Barclays Gedi is responsible for the acquisition, development and construction of a free zone and oil refinery in Monte Christi, The Dominican Republic together with Embassy Villas a residential development adjoining the new Embassy of the United States of America in Santo Domingo. Additionally Experience Plus-Barclays Gedi is developing Chamarel's Estates in the Mauritius Island. In 2009 Barclays Gedi Group established an office in Doha, Qatar under the direction of Partner Mohamed Sururr.
